According to IT industry, VPN has become a thorny topic due to its security function which is lacking in its terms and conditions. The reason for invading to any company’s database is not only just system aperture of these high profile organizations but also to access the company’s VPN. By entering into company’s VPN, they can access company’s confidential data and information for abusing or stealing purpose. It’s not just happening to small companies with behind hand security but it’s also in case of other famous companies like the US Postal Service along with retailers Target as well as Home Depot who have come under same target. All of them have to compromise with it.
VPN is always popular in providing their users perfect security but just a username and password cannot keep your data safe while transferring through VPN. Though the technical architecture of VPN remains same since 1990s but the businesses policy have changed significantly as VPN is always available in providing security of cyber world but the volume of sensitive data transmitted by any organization is increasing tremendously. The IT organizations are forced to keep attention across much vulnerability due to much new architecture. Thus makes VPN as a major target in case of organization access point for criminals which makes VPN a thorny painful side for an IT department. The probability of data loss by hackers directly depends on the strength of the username & password which are used to access the VPN.
IT sectors are now in a great trouble which makes them feel a possibility of destruction by the hacking of their dedicated VPN as hackers find it the easiest way to steal the confidential information of any organization. For this reason, in the recent days many organizations find the VPN as a thorny topic while keeping their personal data confidential.
