Let’s take a look at the digital threats we’ll be facing in 2018

We all have observed that cyber crimes are increasing at a rapid rate. With 2018 coming up digital threats might increase at a much higher level. If you know what you are facing atleast you can be prepared. So here let’s take a look at the threats that security experts suppose would come.

1) Increase in frauds for online booking : Most of the public makes online ticket reservation whether be it for a movie or for a travel. Online transactions have become so easy that we often use them. While booking for travel reservations we give away our as well as our family’s personal details like name, home address and contact details.  Confidential business activities can also be revealed.

2) Cryptocurrency scams will rise: Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin created lot of hype in 2017. Bitcoin became so popular that even scammers are now keenly monitoring it. When the value of Bitcoins increased heavily a striking phishing attack has been made by the scammers.  This is just the beginning, scammers/hackers will never leave an opportunity when it comes to huge amount of money. Bitcoin and VPN together can provide higher security against threats.

3) IoT Industry will face challenges: IoT devices are being launched in great number and the industry is booming across the horizon. Investment companies often overlook the security flaws of these devices taking into consideration their advantages which leads to high number of DDoS attacks. Unsecured IoT has given rise to DDoS attacks. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to make any online service temporarily unavailable by shooting it with traffic from multiple points.

4) Ransomware attacks will rise: WannaCry, Bad Rabbit were some ransomwares that created havoc in 2017. Apparently, in 2018, experts predicted that many more ransomware attacks might target health care industries.
